MGIS - Importing a Local Site from TGO to Pathfinder Office

  In order to import a local site into Pathfinder Office from a survey job in Trimble Geomatics Office, follow the steps below. This can be useful when surveying with a Mapping & GIS receiver, on a job that was originally surveyed with Survey grade.
  1. Open the .dc file in Trimble Geomatics Office (TGO)
  2. Go to File > Project Properties > Coordinate System> Save as Site…
  3. Give the Site a name
  4. Click Ok to close Project Properties
  5. Close the .dc file (File > Close Project)
  6. Go to Utilities > Coordinate System Manager (in TGO)
  7. Click on the Sites tab
  8. Select the desired site coordinate system from the list.
  9. Go to File > Save 
  10. Keep the current.csd name and file location. (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Trimble\Geodata)
  11. Close Coordinate System Manager.
  12. Launch Pathfinder Office (PFO).
  13. Select an appropriate project when prompted.
  14. Go to Utilities > Other > Coordinate System Manager (in PFO)
  15. Click the Sites tab and go to File > Open
  16. Navigate to the appropriate Site saved in step 9. 
  17. Select Open. You should now see your Local Site in the listing.
  18. Close Coordinate System Manager.
  19. Cradle the device, ensuring that it is powered on, plugged in, and cabled to the desktop computer.
  20. Establish a ‘Guest Connection’ in ActiveSync by selecting cancel when prompted:
  21. Go to Utilities > Data Transfer (in PFO)
  22. Ensure the device connects based on your device’s settings.
  23. Click the Send tab
  24. Add the file to transfer by selecting Add > Coordinate System Export. This will send all needed files to the data collector.
